2 Days Gorilla Trekking Rwanda Tour

The 2-Day Gorilla Trekking Rwanda Tour begins in Kigali, goes to Volcanoes National Park and then returns to Kigali for a city tour. During this safari, there will be enough time to trek with gorillas in the misty forests and valleys.

While on this tour, you will trek with mountain gorillas in their natural habitats, visit the Twin Lakes (Burera and Ruhundo), and pay a visit to the Genocide Memorial Site, making it an unforgettable safari experience.

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Musanze

Our guide or driver will pick you up from your apartment at 8:30 a.m. in Kigali, and your day starts with a visit to the genocide memorial site.

Afterward depart for a 2-hour drive to Musanze, the second largest town in Rwanda, with its stunning backdrop of five volcanic mountains – The Virungas.

On reaching Musanze, you will visit the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park - Transfer to Kigali

In the morning, after breakfast, transfer to the Kinigi Park headquarters by 7:00 am where you will be briefed by park rangers about the rules concerning trekking on your second day of the 2-day Gorilla Trekking Rwanda Tour.

After the briefing, start off by trekking along the paths in the bamboo forests. It is an amazing activity where it can take between 2 and 6 hours to track the mountain gorillas.

When you meet the gorillas face-to-face, you will watch them jump from branch to branch, feed, and play, among other things.

Only one hour is given to trekkers to watch the gentle giants. You will also see buffaloes, monkeys, birds, and elephants in the forests.

Later, transfer back to the lodge for lunch, check out, and transfer back to Kigali. Later, transfer to the airport.
