Gorilla Trekking

Tracking mountain gorillas in the dense African forest is a magical experience. Only eight tourists are permitted to trek each gorilla group per day, and to minimize transmission of human diseases to the endangered mountain gorillas, visitors are requested to maintain a distance of 8-10m from the gorillas. Typically, gorilla tracking may take from 3 to 8 hours, depending on the level of fitness and the location of the allocated mountain gorilla family. 

Nature  walk to the Waterfall

Nature walks in the Buhoma sector take travelers through the beautiful part of the tropical rainforest; the nature walk journey passes between ferns and orchids before emerging into the three pristine waterfalls.

Traditional Cooking Class

Spend the afternoon or evening learning how to cook the local traditional East African dishes with the lodge chefs. Batwa people experience 

The Batwa Pygmies are also famous as "keepers of the forest." The Batwa people are an indigenous community who used to live in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park of southwestern Uganda, relying on the forest as a source of food and shelter, but were later displaced by the government of Uganda in 1991 as Bwindi Impenetrable National Park was established to protect Uganda’s mountain gorillas. 

Bird-watching 

Buhoma Visitor Centre is a paradise for birding activity, with countless trekking trails from the center near the picturesque River Munyaga. This area showcases a diverse birding experience, with many bird species such as the white-tailed ant thrush, African sooty flycatcher, and black bee-eater, among others.

The best time to go gorilla trekking in the Buhoma sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is in the dry seasons, specifically between June and September and December and February, when the gorilla trekking trails are less muddy and slippery. Then the visibility is better.
