Swimming in the lake Mutanda could be one of our favorite things to do, and their cozy restaurant has delicious meals both local and international. a great place to warm up with either cold or hot drinks, or soft and hard drinks.

Birdwatching

Lake Mutanda is one of the best places for birdwatching safaris in Uganda, considering that the lake entices a variety of birds along the shores. Some bird species tourists can encounter include hawks, pelicans, Hadada ibises, African spoonbills, sacred ibises, and kites, among so many more.

Canoeing/Boat Ride on Lake Mutanda

A boat ride on Lake Mutanda is a thrilling adventure with a locally made canoe that many tourists love to experience while touring this part of Uganda. Lake Mutanda has so much to offer while on a boat ride, such as the vast bird species, a variety of trees, the lake, and the many islands that give Lake Mutanda that scenic and magical view. Canoe rides are normally done in the morning when the water is still calm and easier to navigate with made canoes.

Gorilla Trekking

Gorilla trekking is done by tourists who are interested in tracking mountain gorillas in the southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, such as in the Rushaga sector of Bwindi and the Nkuringo sector of Bwindi.

Hiking

Lake Mutanda is fully surrounded by hills, so hiking is one of the major tourist attractions in the Mutanda region. A two-day hike from the Buhoma sector through Nkuringo is one of the most popular hikes. Mountain biking is another wonderful adventure that tourists can participate in while visiting Lake Mutanda.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is open for mountain gorilla trekking throughout the year, but the best times to go gorilla trekking are from June to September and December to February. This is when forest trekking trails are relatively dry and less slippery.
