The trekking trails

The Mount Moroto hike has a total length of 26 km and an ascent of 1,820m. Hiking Mount Moroto starts and ends at the Tapac Trading Center, standing at 1,700 m above sea level. The total elevation is 1,820 m, and the two campsites are located at about 10 km from one another. The following peaks will be covered during the second and last days of the hike. Hiking Mount Moroto included

• Experienced tour guides

• Porters (not for personal items)

• Camping gear (tent, mat, sleeping bag)

• All (traditional) meals; local snacks and drinks (water, tea, coffee). Starting from the day of arrival up to the last dinner at Kara-Tunga Safari Camp.

• Vehicle transport from Moroto town to the start or finish (depending on the trail)

• Personal expenditures and tips

• Porters for personal items (they can be booked as an extra)

• Transportation to and from the starting and finishing points

• Accommodation before the trek and after the trek.

• A backpack of small size is recommended.

• 2 x refillable water bottles 1.5L or Camel Back of 3L

• Reusable lunch box

• Outdoor trousers and a long-sleeved shirt for hiking (preferably those that can be converted into shorts and foldable-sleeved shirts)

• Rain-protective gear

• Wind stopper (rainproof) coat

• Hiking boots with good grip are needed for trail sections with loose stones and steep rock faces.

• Sun cream, cap, and/or scarf

 

• There will be no opportunity for modern bathing during the hike. Bush toilets will be created sustainably.

• Guests can carry their own snacks, 3L water, and personal belongings for each day during the hike.

• Daytime temperatures can rise to 35 °C, and evenings and mornings can be windy and as cold as 8 °C.

• The grass is tall in some sections of the hiking trail, so wear clothes that cover body parts.
